Meat your Maker…

There was much meat eaten on Sunday, April 5, 2009, in my residence.

Some people came over for the Phillies’ tragic home opener.  Not to worry, there are 161 games left.

I don’t watch much TV, but on Sunday nights, my best friend and I regularly watch “Breaking Bad” on AMC.  It is a quality show about a brilliant overqualified high school chemistry teacher who is diagnosed with terminal lung cancer and resorts to producing and distributings crystal meth in order to generate money to leave for his family.  Last night’s episode saw Walter White (played by Bryan Cranston) go for cancer treatment.  As he leaves, he receives a pin that says “HOPE is the best medicine”.  Walt quickly throws it in the garbage.  I thought it was a great scene and really showed you Walt’s current mindset.

The Undertaker is still 17-0 following his Wrestlemania victory over Shawn Michaels.  I didn’t order Wrestlemania this year, primarily due to the fact that WWE spoiled the ending of the Undertaker match last week!

The stock market currently is trading with losses.  This should be no surprise after the euphoria of the G20 summit and a few days of gains has worn off, and the reality of the situation is setting back in.

My heart goes out to those affected by the earthquake in Italy today.  Even more troubling is that a scientist who tried to warn the public about the impending natural disaster, was muzzled.

Speaking of muzzled, it looks like the new boss is looking more and more like the old boss, as President Obama has jumped on the States Secrets bandwagon… That ain’t change I can believe in!

But I digress……………..

I watched Wolverine the other night (shhh don’t tell the FBI).  It was OK.  Though the special effects are what really make a movie like this, the storyline was fairly true to the roots of Wolverine, although many die hard fans might end up dissatisfied with Deadpool (and the corny one-liners!).

If you haven’t heard the band “Does it offend you, yeah?”, you should look into them.  I worry that they’ll become too popular now that they have a track being played on all the Fast and Furious commercials.  Here is their track, “Doomed Now”, off the album “You have no idea what you’re getting yourself into”:

Have a good day. I’ll write some more later.
